S275JR Medium thick plate is a kind of steel plate with thickness greater than 4.5-25.0mm, usually plain carbon plate, superior carbon plate, low alloy plate, ship plate, bridge plate, boiler plate, vessel plate and so on. There are various classifications of medium plate according to different standards, for example, it can be divided into high-strength steel plate and ordinary steel plate according to strength, ordinary steel plate and special steel plate according to chemical composition, and it can be divided into shipbuilding steel plate, welded structural steel plate, boiler and pressure vessel steel plate according to usage. Raw materials for medium-thickness plates include primary rolled slabs, continuous casting slabs, ingots and forging billets, of which the proportion of continuous casting slabs is increasing. The manufacturing process for medium and thick plates includes coordinated controlled rolling, low-temperature discharge heating system, etc., to save fuel consumption and to improve mill capacity, quality and yield of steel plates. Medium-thickness plates are used in a wide range of applications, such as the manufacture of ships, bridges and building structures.
